So I looked up the word of the day, and it’s reticent.  That is appropriate at the moment for my son.  He is reticent to write his college essay.  I have been after him for weeks now to get it going, start the process which I know will be a long one.  I get that it is summer and who really wants to do school work over the summer?  No one.  However, this is a BIG deal.  If he gets this essay going, then his fall semester in senior year will be that much easier.  He has advanced classes to worry about on top of filling out the college applications.  Come to think of it, I am reticent towards this entire process.  That is only because  I know how difficult it is going to be prodding him along.  My daughter was easy, this one…not so much.  Is it a boy vs. girl thing or just a personality thing?  Who knows, but it’s something large in our face that must be dealt with.  How oh how will we get him over his reticence?   I will have to have faith that in the end all will work out, it will get done, and he will go to a college that is meant for him.  There is a plan, there is always a plan, we just have to go where the path takes us.

Until next time…
